2018 Holiday Gift Guide
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
If you need some help finding the perfect gift, look no further. Last year I made a gift guide and the tradition continues with some interesting finds, hot buys, and unique gifts that I’ve been keeping an eye on this year. Note: this Holiday Gift Guide was made on my own. I am not sponsored by any of these companies. Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that earn me a small commission, at no additional cost to you. Think of it as a tiny finders fee in return for the time I invested on curating the list! As always, I only recommend products I personally use and love, or think my readers will find useful.
There’s something for everyone
mini sized faves: (laura mercier powder / drunk elephant facial oil / fenty beauty highlite+lip minis / versaci perfume / la mer)
Clinique Moisture Surge is one of the best products I have ever tried. Either the spray or cream are amazing, and a MUST HAVE for winter. For those who love watching beauty tutorials, I would suggest going to your nearest Sephora and buying a HUDA palette (#2), I chose this palette because I would use these colors most, but there are other options. If you can’t decide, just get a gift card! Every beauty lover needs the right mirror. A pretty and versatile bag that can work for all occasions and seasons is a great investment. Simple touches like a statement bangle or custom named earrings are thoughtful gifts. This organizer is a beautiful color and perfect for a collector. These makeup brushes are good quality and great to bring along on the go. No Fail Stocking Stuffers: Beauty Minis! (#10) Mini sized products are my fave because I can try these out before buying a full size and also, they are perfect to travel with!
Homebodies need a cozy blanket to cuddle on the couch with. I would go for a heavy knit throw in their favorite color. Bring comfort to their environment by gifting diffusers or candles (#8 is my favorite candle this year, I always pick it up at Target!). Please gift your favorite indoor aficionado some proper loungewear so they can be relaxed yet stylish at home. Pair this with a set of orthopedic slippers. You can’t go wrong with an Instapot! Are they an animal lover? Bring nature to their backyard with a birdhouse, it’s always a pleasant surprise to watch birds living the dream from right out of your window, and isn’t it adorable? A custom star map displaying the night sky on an important date, like an anniversary or birthday, will always bring a smile on their faces. These cold nights aren’t complete without a hot cup of coffee.
If they regularly say “Back in my day” then maybe some of these gifts are just what will make them smile. This polaroid is bigger than the Fuji Instaxmini(which I own and love), it’s pretty much like the real deal. Don’t forget the film! If they were a true 90’s kid, gift a Tamagotchi. A customizable reel viewer with your own photos, I mean…how could you not get this? If they used to record their favorite songs on a tape then gifts (#6) & (#7) are just right. If you want to remind the younger generations about the magic of the old days, gift a Lite Brite! If you want to remind your parents of their good old days, gift a rotary phone. Make a statement with graphic tees or a cinema Lightbox. Last but not least, the Atari and Nintendos with preloaded games, is a great all ages gift for the family.
BABIES & LiL’ Ones
When it comes to playtime, children don’t need countless toys and expensive things! Moonlite is a projector that you stick on your phone, my kiddos LOVE this. Yogi cards are a perfect way to exercise and learn words. Teething babies can be trendy with a cool gameboy teether. BabyBjorn’s bouncer is one of the best things we have purchased for baby, it’s lightweight and we took it everywhere. Lil’ Loteria is a fantastic tool that mixes flashcards and bingo, making learning another language bien facil. Spark imagination and fine motor skills with Eco-dough(#6) and Craft boxes(#7). Improve coordination and independence with a glider, scooter or bike. Mumablue is a custom book company, (#9) we have one for our kiddo and he is always fascinated that he is in a story. Also, music is one of the best languages, gift them instruments to feel confident in making their own sounds!
I am not going to pretend I am a big spender, so quick heads up that these gifts cost over $100. However, if you are able to splurge a little on some hot items, then these would be my choices. Robots: A cute robot companion named Vector and a robot vaccum, because…life ain’t easy. Classic: A Burberry scarf and wool coat will always be in style. Trendy: Leather framed coffee shades and Black boots for winter is a look. Devices: The new Apple Watch and Bose wireless headphones are great buys for those on the go. Sony a7iii Kit is a great professional full frame camera at a great price for those who are always snapping photos/video and want to take it to the next level. If someone special loves to bake and doesn’t have mixer, consider (#6) for them, I have heard it is life changing.
fun + games
My husband helped out with some of these - which explains why the XboxOneX is (#1). If they already have an Xbox, I suggest Forza (#9) and my husband suggests Red Dead Redemption (#10) I think every one should have some games like chess, tic tac toe, and trivia at home. Also, Karaoke is the definition of fun, if you need something smaller, cheaper and awesome like a karaoke system - I have also linked a karaoke microphone machine. Finally, two of my favorite things on the list are a dart board and a mixology set.
These are a random assortment of things I found interesting: Great stocking stuffers and perfect for gift exchanges.
Gifting an experience is a thoughtful gift with a personal touch.
